Dr. Shakira Espada-Campos
Hello and welcome to SEC Psychotherapy. I’m a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I’ve been a clinical psychotherapist for the last 20+ years and I’m passionate about the healing process. Everything great that happens in therapy is because of the collaboration between you and your therapist. It really is a partnership where we work together to address challenges that are stopping you from reaching your full potential. I’m trained in a variety of treatment modalities, because therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and the goals we set will determine what approaches are used. I am excited to hear your story and see what we can do to get you to a happier, healthier, more empowered place.
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Georgia and my Doctor of Clinical Social Work (DSW) from the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, I reside in Northern Virginia and am clinically licensed to practice in Connecticut, Virginia, and Washington.
Treatment Focus
I have extensive experience working with all age groups and use a trauma-informed strengths based approach. Trauma is defined differently by different people so it can range from tough childhood experiences to PTSD experienced in military service. It’s for this reason that my clients are so diverse.
